Traditional Irish Music
Pat O’Scannell and Chris Delaney are combining forces once again to form a duo with seasoned chops and a blending of the rough with the sophisticated. Both are singers and multi-instrumentalists.
Chris shifting from searing banjo solos, to mandolin, guitar and bodhrán in quick time, and presenting songs of ribald humor that tell of gypsies, sailors and rovers.
Pat is a masterful whistle player, doubling on flute, bodhran and bones, and accompanying songs or tunes on guitar, which she tunes modally. Pat sings in a sean nos, unaccompanied style as well in both Irish and English, and moves audiences with her lyrical vocals, and her tales of women’s lives, of love lost and won, and of the leaving of Ireland for a new land are accomplished with a voice expressive in both its timbres and its fluid ornamentation.
The two Artists each have their own extensive backgrounds in the world of Irish traditional music, which you may peruse by visiting their BIO page »
